Broxbourne bin collection days

Broxbourne's bin collection page is an address search, with bins out before 6am. The garden subscription is a green 240-litre bin every two weeks, £53.50 by Direct Debit or £58 by card for 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. The garden page does not list what the bin takes or what to leave out. The A to Z of recycling on the waste section is a PDF, so it is not copied here. The waste page links to a food waste leaflet, also a PDF, and the HTML pages do not list food contents.

Garden waste

Garden waste is a paid-for service. For 2026/27 the green waste charge is £53.50 per bin by Direct Debit, or £58 per bin as a one-off card payment. The fee applies in full even for part of the year. There is no partial refund for joining late or cancelling part way through. The 2026/2027 service runs from 1 April 2026 to 31 March 2027. Most houses and flats with their own garden can subscribe. The council supplies a green 240-litre wheeled bin, collected every two weeks except over Christmas. The subscription form is online between February and November. Put the bin out no earlier than 7.30pm the evening before and no later than 6am on collection day. A sticker is posted after payment and has to go on the lid. The garden page does not list what to put in the bin or what to leave out. Direct Debit renews unless you cancel it with the council and the bank. The council writes at least 10 days before the next payment. A card payment ends at the end of March and has to be taken out again for 1 April.

If your bin was missed

Report a missed bin on the online form. The council says it will return within two working days of receiving the report. Leave the bin on the property boundary. Green waste is only collected if you have paid and the bin shows a valid sticker. The form asks for contact details and which bin was missed. Report a missed bin before midnight on the day following the scheduled collection. After that it waits for the next scheduled visit.

Good to know in Broxbourne

  • The collection search needs a postcode or a street of at least six characters. Garden dates appear only for subscribers. The page does not describe a rubbish frequency or a recycling frequency, so neither is guessed.
  • The green bin is collected every two weeks except Christmas. It goes out no earlier than 7.30pm the night before and no later than 6am. Extra green bins are arranged by contacting the council. The sticker has to be on the lid before collections start.
  • Direct Debit customers are written to at least 10 days before the renewal payment. Card payers have to subscribe again if they want collections from 1 April. There is no part-year refund.
  • A missed bin has to be reported before midnight on the day after collection. The return is within two working days of the report. After that deadline the bin waits until the next scheduled collection.
  • The waste section also links to replacement bins, help to put a bin out, bulky waste, clinical waste, a larger bin application and a reusable nappy scheme. Those pages are not used for contents lists here.
  • Because the recycling A to Z and the food leaflet are PDFs, this page does not invent a dry-recycling list or a food list from them. The food stream is recorded as having no accepts list and no reject list on the HTML pages.
