If your bin was missed

Put bins and boxes out before 7am. If they were out by 7am and had not been collected by 5pm, contact Waste Management before 12pm on the second working day after your usual collection day. A Friday collection can be reported until 12pm the following Tuesday. A bin put out late, or on the wrong day, waits until the next scheduled visit. The lorries record the time they visit. Your nearest tip

Good to know in Isle of Anglesey

  • Wash and squash recyclable items before they go in the trolley. If items are dirty or still have food on them, the contractor leaves the boxes for the following week.
  • The trolley is sorted: mixed paper and magazines in the top red box, plastics, cans, aerosols and clean foil in the middle blue box, and glass bottles and jars plus cardboard no larger than 50cm by 50cm in the bottom orange box. No gas canisters in the blue box.
  • Extra recycling can go beside the trolley in clear plastic bags, with separate bags for paper, for cans and plastics, for glass, and for cardboard.
  • The household collection page says the collection policy is being updated and that the council is no longer collecting textiles and batteries.
  • Put bins and boxes out by 7am on collection day. The green bin needs this year's sticker, or it is not emptied.
  • Hazardous waste, including batteries, gas canisters, chemicals and disposable barbecues, should go to Gwalchmai or Penhesgyn rather than the black bin, because the council says those items can start fires at the recycling centres.
