The council's bin collection date finder needs a browser, which BinWeek's lookup service does not run, so the page links to the council's own finder.

Food waste and the national recycling rules

North Warwickshire collects food waste every week. From 6th July 2026 the council collects food waste every week, on the same day as the other bins, in its own vehicle. Homes get a 5 litre indoor caddy, a 23 litre outdoor caddy and a starter roll of liners. The waste line is 01827 719389. Some flats are still on a phased list and get a communal bin later.

Garden waste

Garden waste is a paid-for service. £45 per green bin per year, from 1st April to 31st March. There is no part-year discount. A permit sticker should arrive within 10 working days of payment. The bin is not emptied without a valid sticker on the back, below the handle. Collections are fortnightly, excluding Christmas and New Year. Put the bin out by 6:30am with the handles facing the road. Lost permits and permit questions go to 01827 715341.

If your bin was missed

Report a bin that was genuinely missed so the council can stop it happening again. They do not come back for it. It is emptied on the next scheduled day, with up to three bags of side waste, and only if you told them it was missed. Recycling, garden and food side waste goes in an untied bag or another container. The missed bin page does not give a number of days in which to report. It does say a bin left after 6.30 am, or one with the wrong items, is not treated as missed.

Good to know in North Warwickshire

  • Plastic bags and wrapping joined the red-lid bin from 28th of July 2025. They go in loose. Do not fill a bag with other recycling, because the sorting plant reads the bag and not what is inside it. Carrier bags themselves can be recycled. Black plastic plant pots cannot. Other black plastic pots, tubs and trays can.
  • The red-lid page says extra recycling, including cardboard that will not fit once it is broken down, is not collected. The black bin page says extra waste beside the black bin is not collected either, unless you have reported a genuine miss, in which case the missed page allows up to three bags next time.
  • Flats use the communal bin store. Food caddies for named blocks are still being rolled out. The food page lists those blocks, including Chancery Court, Welcome Street, Newton Fields and others, and says the list changes.
  • Lower House Farm is the recycling centre the black bin page names, and it says Warwickshire County Council runs it and restrictions may apply. Bulky collections are a separate council service.
  • Garden permits that are lost, or a replacement green bin, are handled on 01827 715341. If payment does not return you to the form, the same number is the one the page asks you to call. There is no discount for benefits, a second bin, or using the service rarely.
