Tamworth runs waste with Lichfield District Council. The borough pages we could read state the garden subscription, the missed-bin phone line, and that food caddies started going out on 15 June 2026. They do not list what the rubbish, recycling or food containers take.

Tamworth does not collect food waste every week. The bins page, updated as of the notice dated 15 June 2026, says new food waste caddies are being delivered from that day. It does not say the collection has a weekly round yet, and it does not list what the caddy takes. The delivery schedule it links is on the Lichfield site.
Garden waste is a paid-for service. £42.50 per year for up to 23 fortnightly garden waste collections, whatever date you join. Pay by direct debit, which renews on its own, or by card for one year. The direct debit account is a MyAccount hosted by Lichfield District Council. Card payments can also be taken by phone. Collections run from the end of January or early February to mid-December. Put the stickered bin out before 6am, sticker facing the road. The joint waste phone is 0345 002 0022, weekdays 9am to 5pm, not bank holidays. Direct debit cannot be set up on that phone call. Face to face direct debits are at District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield, WS13 6YU.
Check the missed bin updates page first. If your street is not listed as a round they are returning to, call 0345 002 0022 or use the online missed bin form. The page says breakdowns, roadworks, parked cars, blocked roads, weather and crew changes can leave a street unemptied. The missed updates page does not give a number of days to report. It does say every bin should be at the kerbside by 6am.
Garden waste for 2026 is £42.50 for the year. That buys up to 23 fortnightly garden waste collections between the end of January or early February and mid-December, even if you join late. The sticker goes on the side the crew will see, facing the road, and the bin is out before 6am.
Direct debit needs a MyAccount on the Lichfield site, plus the bank details. A card payment can be one year online, or by phone on 0345 002 0022 from 9am to 5pm on weekdays. The same number cannot set up a direct debit. That has to be online or in person at District Council House, Frog Lane, Lichfield, WS13 6YU.
The bins page says new food caddies are being delivered from 15 June 2026. It does not say they are collected every week, and the foods they take are not written on the Tamworth page.
Missed rounds are posted on the missed updates page. If your street is not on that list, phone 0345 002 0022 or send the online form. Bins are due at the kerbside by 6am. The page does not add a later deadline in days.
Household waste centres in Staffordshire are listed from the tips page, which does not repeat their names or hours. It says someone on the east side of Tamworth may be nearer Lower House Farm recycling centre in North Warwickshire, and that residents can use that site too. Items it names for a centre, not for the kerbside bin, include paper and card, low energy light bulbs, glass bottles, electrical appliances, fridge freezers, scrap metal and car batteries.
The garden page points at full terms and at the what-goes-in list on the joint service. Those pages are not quoted here.
