Forest bin collection days

The Forest is the parish on Guernsey’s south coast that contains the airport, and its Douzaine arranges the kerbside round through a contractor. BinWeek could not read the parish website’s robots file, so this page is built from the States of Guernsey’s own pages: My Bin Night for your collection night and bag week, and the island rules on stickers and bags.

Last checked against 2 sources (www.gov.gg).

Check your bin day

Use Forest’s own page for your bin day

Guernsey collection nights come from the States of Guernsey’s My Bin Night address search, which runs in the browser and is not something BinWeek’s lookup service can query, so the page links to it and to the parish and lets you set your own bin night.

Your nearest tip

Good to know in Forest

  • Find your collection night and the materials due each week on the States of Guernsey’s My Bin Night page by entering your house name or postcode. Which colour of bag is being collected this week is also shown by the recycling icon on every gov.gg page.
  • Rubbish goes in any proper waste bag with the appropriate payment sticker, tied securely. There is no limit on the number of bags on your collection night. Blue and clear recycling bags must not be used for rubbish or they will be left.
  • Recycling bags and caddy liners are free from most supermarkets; ask at the till or customer service desk. Caddies and glass bags are collected from Longue Hougue, the Chouet green waste site or a Parish Constables’ office.
  • Anything contaminated with food, such as chip paper or a takeaway pizza box, is rubbish rather than recycling. A bag put out on the wrong week or with the wrong contents may be left with an explanatory sticker; re-sort it for next time.
  • The States runs a subsidy for real nappies and a Love Food, Hate Waste campaign alongside the kerbside service. All materials, including black bags, can be taken to the Household Waste and Recycling Centre at Longue Hougue if you miss a night.
