St Saviour (Guernsey) bin collection days

St Saviour is a rural parish on Guernsey’s west coast whose Constables arrange the kerbside round, and whose website does not carry a collections page. Everything a St Saviour household needs comes from the States of Guernsey: your collection night and the bags due each week from My Bin Night, and the island-wide rules on stickers, bags and caddies.

Guernsey collection nights come from the States of Guernsey’s My Bin Night address search, which runs in the browser and is not something BinWeek’s lookup service can query, so the page links to it and to the parish and lets you set your own bin night.

Good to know in St Saviour (Guernsey)

  • Enter your house name or postcode in the States of Guernsey’s My Bin Night search to see your collection night and which materials to put out each week. The recycling icon at the top of every gov.gg page shows the colour of bag being collected this week.
  • General rubbish can go in any colour of bag provided it is a proper waste bag with the right payment sticker, but the States recommends black bags for 90 litre containers and white for other sizes so the crew can see the sticker, and it says not to use blue or clear recycling bags for rubbish.
  • There is no limit on the number of rubbish or recycling bags, as long as each rubbish bag is stickered and everything is tied and put out on the correct night.
  • If the wrong bag goes out in the wrong week, or has the wrong materials in it, the crew may leave it with an explanatory sticker. Take it back in, re-sort it and put it out next time, or take everything to the Household Waste and Recycling Centre at Longue Hougue.
  • Rolls of blue and clear bags and caddy liners are free from most supermarkets. Replacement caddies and glass bags come from Longue Hougue, the Green Waste Site at Chouet or the Parish Constables’ office, which the States lists as open on Monday afternoons and Thursday mornings.
