Grouville bin collection days

Grouville sits in the south-east corner of Jersey and its household refuse is collected once a week, on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday depending on where in the parish you live. Glass has a separate monthly round whose day follows your refuse day. The parish asks for wheelie bins rather than dustbins or sacks, put out the night before.

Last checked against 2 sources (grouville.je, www.gov.je).

Check your bin day

Use Grouville’s own page for your bin day

Jersey parishes publish their collection days as road lists, calendars or PDFs rather than an address lookup BinWeek can query, so the page links to the parish’s own list and you can set your own bin day.

These dates are the ones you enter. BinWeek does not get them from Grouville. Check them on the council’s site (opens in a new tab) (grouville.je).

If your bin was missed

Grouville’s collections are run by a contractor, Vautier Municipal Ltd. The parish page says to ring them on 01534 500191 with any query about refuse or glass, which includes a bin that was not emptied. The Government of Jersey page says missed collections are reported to your parish.

Good to know in Grouville

  • The parish page gives the weekly pattern rather than a road-by-road list: refuse is collected on Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday according to area. If you are new to the parish and unsure of your day, the contractor Vautier Municipal Ltd can tell you.
  • Glass is collected once a month. Roads with a Monday refuse collection have their glass taken on a Thursday; roads with a Tuesday or Wednesday refuse collection have glass taken on a Friday. The exact dates for the year are in a PDF of glass collection dates linked from the parish page.
  • Refuse must be in a wheelie bin, not a plastic sack or box. The parish points out that waste spread by gulls and rodents from a torn sack is the householder’s responsibility, and the collector may leave sacks behind.
  • Glass should also go out in a wheelie bin, rinsed and with lids off. Glass that is not sorted and cleaned may not be collected, and the parish lists metals, ceramics, sharps, carrier bags, fluorescent tubes, window frames, rubber seals and metal fixings as things that must stay out of it.
  • Recycling points for the parish are at Holmegrown. Other Island sites take green waste and liquids such as cooking oil and paint; the parish links to the Government of Jersey’s recycling at home pages for them.

Bin questions in Grouville

Which day is my refuse collected in Grouville?

Once a week on a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday, depending on the area of the parish you live in. The parish page does not publish a road list, so ask Vautier Municipal Ltd if you are unsure.

When is glass collected in Grouville?

Monthly. If your refuse day is Monday your glass day is a Thursday; if your refuse day is Tuesday or Wednesday it is a Friday. The parish publishes the year’s dates as a PDF.

Can I put glass in my Grouville refuse bin?

No. The Government of Jersey says glass cannot be processed at the Energy from Waste plant because it melts and then sets, so it is collected separately across every parish.
