St Saviour, the parish that wraps around the east and north of St Helier, has the fullest kerbside service in Jersey: weekly general rubbish, a monthly glass round and, since October 2019, a recycling collection twice a month using clear bags for metals and plastic bottles and blue bags for paper and card. Everything goes out before 6am on the day shown for your road.

Use St Saviour (Jersey)’s own page for your bin day

Jersey parishes publish their collection days as road lists, calendars or PDFs rather than an address lookup BinWeek can query, so the page links to the parish’s own list and you can set your own bin day.

If your bin was missed

The parish customer service team is on 735864 or by email, and the Government of Jersey says missed collections are reported to the parish. Note that the refuse team will not pick bags out of bins or take waste left on the ground, and a non-compliant glass bin is tagged with a rejection label explaining why.

Your nearest tip

Good to know in St Saviour (Jersey)

  • Your dates come from two documents on the parish page: a Collection by Road Name list and the annual refuse and recycling calendar. Together they show your general waste, recycling and glass dates. Put everything out before 6am.
  • Bins are checked for safety. Refuse and glass are only collected from wheelie bins with lifting arms of 140 to 240 litres, or larger if fitted with a lifting arm. Rubbish must be bagged in black sacks inside the bin, because after finds of glass, needles and knives the team no longer lifts bags out or collects loose waste.
  • Glass goes in your own clearly labelled glass wheelie bin, which the parish will supply free on request. A bin that does not meet the rules is left with a Glass Rejection label. Collected glass goes to the contractor at La Collette, where some becomes aggregate and some is sent to the UK for reprocessing.
  • Recycling bags are free from the Parish Hall on weekday mornings and early afternoons, or delivered on request if you quote your ratepayer reference, name or address. Put them out the night before because the recycling team can start at 6am. Between collections you can drop bags at the Recycling Centre at the Parish Depot in the Rue des Prés trading estate.
  • The accepted materials follow the Government of Jersey’s list. Shredded paper is not taken at the kerb but can go to Abbey Waste in the Rue des Prés estate, and the parish suggests the scrunch test for wrappers: if it springs back open, it is rubbish.
